If you make a mistake just paint over it. Apply two coats of paint let dry, sand to distress-if you want that look, then apply your wax. I was one of the initial three stockists in the country and now we probably have close to 70 stockists and expanded into Canada.ĭon’t be afraid, just go for it. I did some investigating and found out that there was a new distributor in the United States looking for perspective stockists (retailers) of Annie Sloan Paint and Waxes. I was especially inspired by the mahogany dining table that was painted in Paris Grey and then edged with gold. I started reading and was blown away by the furniture finishes and thought they were gorgeous and not anything I had ever seen before. I had been reading Annie Sloan’s decorative painting books for years and had purchased Annie’s book, “Creating the French Look”. Soft Wax is not recommended for use in areas subject to a lot of water. Apply two coats of wax, letting the coats dry in between, and buff to a high sheen. Annie Sloan Soft Wax is water repellent so it can be used on kitchen cabinets and table tops. To maintain your furniture use a mild soap and water or dust with a soft cloth. Allow the wax to cure 24 hours and buff to a lustrous finish. Excess Dark Wax can be removed with a cloth or even erased with a little Clear Wax on a rag. You can manipulate the Black Wax over the wet Clear Wax to achieve your desired look. Then immediatley apply the Black Wax over the Clear Wax using your Dark Wax brush while the Clear Wax is still wet working it in to any textures. For a distressed finish, rub gently with fine sand paper AFTER applying the Clear Wax while the wax is still "wet" (approx 30 min). The wax will deepen the color of the paint when applied, but on drying it won't be so apparent. Apply Annie Sloan Black Chalk Paint® Wax over the Clear Wax to give a cool, dark finish to your paint work, bring out texture in brushwork and moldings, as well as darken and enrich colors.įirst apply Clear Wax with a wax brush over dry Chalk Paint®.
